Hiking Myles Standish State Forest, Massachusetts - Constellation Keychain Activity Kit May 29, 2014

Kaiya is now a year old. She sure doesn't act like it very often.
Ok, I get it, high energy dog. But with my fractured arm and her pulling me like we are a sleigh team, (still), just isn't working. So I thought I would have a different approach with her aft I caught her digging along the fish pond. I would speak to her. First she ignores me and I tell her to listen up and look at me when I speak to her and you see were this got me, yep, a big boring yawn and she went and took a nap under a bush. We have been trying clicker training, works only when she wants the treat. Have tried letting her go hungry so she will earn her food, she doesn't care as she knows she will be fed sooner or later. I don't have the $75-$150 per hour for private training, tears.
I am into week 6 with this fractured arm and this blog is the first time I am typing with all my fingers. It took me 7 hours to write the last 2 blogs with 1 finger. My arm still aches some and it is still bruised and I don't know why nor do I have a doctor to speak to. The ortho I saw has a beyond poor bedside manner so I will not be going back. My fingers are swelled from the 4 mile hike.
I goofed and didn't write the man's name who shared his GPS photo of the hike so I can give him credit. Kaiya and I wished to do 2-4 more miles but didn't wish to go alone. It was lovely especially after being cooped up for a bit. We both get antsy. The weather was perfect.
Kaiya waded in New Grassy Pond, which is a bit stagnate so has a bit of odor to it. And Ellie also went on the hike. Ellie did not like Kaiya for the first mile or so but aft receiving a couple nip-tag-your it and then a body check Ellie gave in. Ellie is a little smaller and older than Kaiya.
Kaiya sure wanted the stick Ellie kept bringing into the water and in no time Kaiya was out swimming with her. Her first swim. Ellie shared the stick when she got to shore.
The trails are beautiful and you touch many different scenes and scents through the hundreds of acres. Pine, Maple, vernal pools, stagnant and swimming ponds, inexpensive camp sites, horseback trails and camp sites, tarred pathways for bicycle or wheelchair. You may find the remains of an old homestead, geo cache box, cars, furniture, hand water pumps.

Being one handed I didn't take many more photos than you see here, sadly enough.

Here is a fun activity for all ages and great fun while camping, learning the constellation and it can all be slipped onto a keychain.

We hope you enjoyed today's blog. My arm is a little more sore from typing but it was great stretching exercise. I have 3 blogs waiting for me to write so much more is coming. Rain is slowing coming our way so the weather is cooler, comfortable today.

Take care and Happy Trails To You,

Spirit and Kaiya
